New Year, New Designs
Embracing Personality Over Trends
The new year is such a fun, refreshing time—a real opportunity for new beginnings. I always find myself inspired by design, but this time of year—those post-holiday winter doldrums—feels like the perfect moment to fill my cup with fresh ideas and new inspiration. One thing that consistently pops up around this time are trend reports for the upcoming year. If you’re not familiar, these are exactly what they sound like: groups of top designers share their predictions for “What’s Hot and What’s Not” in the world of design.
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with these lists.
I find these trend forecasts a lot like astrology, actually: super fun and thought provoking, but not something I’d base my life (or my designs) on. Certainly not something I’d rely on to create meaningful work for my clients.
At Three Birch Hill, we have a bit of a different approach. We lean into personality, not trends, to create art and design that speaks on a deeper, more lasting level; timeless design and modern heirlooms for joyous living–not pieces specifically designed to be consumed and discarded.
One of our core values at Three Birch Hill is “youthful yet timeless design.” So, if you're ready to start your next project, I’d love for you to reach out and see how we can help make your space uniquely you—for years to come. (Emphasis on years!)
